Quetta Gladiators’ spinner, Usman Tariq, has been reported for a doubtful bowling action during his team’s match against Lahore Qalandars in the HBL PSL 10.
The on-field umpires, Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown, elevated concerns over Tariq’s action during the match held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening.
According to the rules, Tariq is allowed to continue bowling in future matches.
Though, if he is reported again for a similar issue, he will face postponement from bowling. To restart bowling in official matches, he will need to receive permission from an ICC-accredited laboratory.
The development increases questions over the justice and validity of Tariq’s bowling technique, and it remains to be seen how the situation explains in the coming days.
