Peshawar Zalmiโ€™s 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) war has been anything but flat, with the team currently sitting fifth out of six on the points table. The franchise has already faced challenges with player readiness, and today, another shock has struck as the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to grasp up top talent from the Zalmi squad.

Former in the season, Zalmi vanished Corbin Bosch, who left the group before the PSL even started to join Mumbai Indians (MI) as an injury additional. Now, Peshawar Zalmi are set to misplace another key player.

Mitchell Owen, the 23-year-old Australian top-order batter, has been employed by IPL permit Punjab Kings (PBKS) as a replacement for Glenn Maxwell, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 season due to a cracked finger.

Owen, who has been one of the most thrilling short-format batters in recent months, will join PBKS at the end of Zalmiโ€™s PSL campaign for a stated INR 3 crore (Rs. 99.66 crore).

Owen was eligible to be a spare player in the IPL after registration for the sale last year, even though he did not make the final shortlist.

The Australian batter is predictable to travel to India as soon as Zalmiโ€™s PSL season accomplishes. Zalmiโ€™s final group-stage match is scheduled for May 9, but if they qualify for the playoffs, Owenโ€™s promises could extend until the PSL final on May 18. This timing would allow him to join PBKS before the IPL playoffs begin.
