The 2025 Asia Cup, scheduled to take place in India future this year, looks growing indecision following rumors that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparation to remove from the tournament due to continuing political tensions with Pakistan.

According to Indian media accounts, the BCCI has stated enthusiasm to participate in both the Asia Cup, scheduled for September in India, and the Womenโ€™s Developing Asia Cup, scheduled for June in Sri Lanka.

The stated decision curtails from Pakistanโ€™s leadership in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), currently controlled by Mohsin Naqvi, who also helps as Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

While no official announcement has been made, the BCCI is said to have orally communicated its location to the ACC. Internal discussions with the Indian government are supposedly continuing, and a final decision is predictable soon.

The move is seen as an answer to recent political and safety developments, including sensitive tensions following an attack in IIOJK and following military actions.

India and Pakistan have not involved in bilateral cricket since 2013, with meetings limited to ICC and ACC multi-nation events at impartial venues. India, the defensive Asia Cup champion, formerly evaded traveling to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, selecting to play matches in Dubai instead.

The ACC has yet to issue an official reply to the stated developments.
