Melbourne: Cricket Australia held on Tuesday it is working with the government as well as the Indian board on safety preparations with some players set to make a choice on whether to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) when it restarts this week.
The Twenty20 tournament was postponed last Friday among the worst aggressive between India and Pakistan in nearly three periods before a ceasefire was reached over the weekend.
Indiaโs board (BCCI) said on Monday the remaining 17 games would recommence from May 17 with the final rescheduled for June 3.
That would leave some Australian players like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Inglis with a quick reversal for their World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa at Lordโs that starts eight days later.
โFollowing the statement that the Indian Premier League will resume on Saturday, Cricket Australia will provision players in their separate decisions whether to return to India or not,โ Cricket Australia said in a statement.
