England pacer Mark Wood has been lined out of cricket for four months following an operation on his left knee which he injured during the Champions Trophy 2025.
As per the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the right-arm pacer suffered the surgery on Wednesday after MRIs confirmed medial ligament damage.
The injury had forced Mark Wood to leave the Champions Trophy 2025 game against Afghanistan in Lahore without completing his proportion of overs.
According to ECB, the surgery effectually ruled him out of Englandโs upcoming Test series against India.
Mark Wood and the ECB, yet, will hope that he gets fully fit for the Remains winter.
ECBโs handling director Rob Key stated England will โwork back from the Ashesโ concerning decisions around the fast bowlerโs fitness.
Responding to the development, the England pacer declared to make a strong comeback to cricket after improving from his knee injury.
โIโm dressed to be out for so long after representing England through all formats since the start of last year,โ said Mark Wood in a proclamation. โBut Iโve got every confidence that Iโll be back fire on all cylinders now that Iโve been able to kind my knee out.
The right-arm quick expressed thankfulness to the medical team which has been considering his injury that he continued during the Champions Trophy 22025.
