Previous Head Coach of the Pakistan national team Jason Gillespie tossed a scathing attack on provisional Head Coach Aaqib Javed blaming him of ostensibly campaigning for a coaching role across all formats.

In a social media post, Gillespie did not grasp back, marking Javed a “clown” in response to his current remarks.

The previous Australian fast bowler’s notes came after Javed spoke during a press conference following the declaration of Pakistan’s white-ball squad for the coming tour of New Zealand.

โ€œWe have changed closely 16 coaches and 26 selectors in the last two years,โ€ Javed stated.

โ€œIf you apply that formula to any team in the world, they would face similar unpredictability. Until there is steadiness from the top down, progress will remain obscure,โ€ he added.

Gillespie called Javedโ€™s remarks โ€œcomical,โ€ blaming him of secretly destabilization him and former white-ball coach Gary Kirsten.

โ€œThis is comical. Aaqib was clearly undermining Gary and I behind the scenes demonstration to be the coach in all formats. He is a clown ๐Ÿคก,โ€ Gillespie wrote.

It is relevant to mention that the 49-year-old, who enjoyed a decade-long international career with Australia, was chosen as Pakistanโ€™s Test coach in April last year on a two-year agreement.

Yet, after a wild tenure marked by changeable performances and internal challenges, he resigned in Decemberโ€”less than eight months into the jobโ€”just before Pakistanโ€™s home Test series against South Africa.

His disappearance came shortly after Gary Kirstenโ€™s departure in October, which left Pakistanโ€™s coaching setup in panic.

Kirsten, who had been chosen as the white-ball head coach only six months previous, stepped down among reports of a tense relationship with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and difficulties in supporting with the team’s management structure.

In the wake of these disappearances, the former Pakistan pacer was named interim white-ball coach by the PCB until the Champions Trophy 2025.

Yet, his tenure has now been prolonged for Pakistanโ€™s upcoming tour of New Zealand, which begins on March 16 and features a five-match T20I series followed by three ODIs.
