Bangladesh Announces Squad for Upcoming Tours of UAE and Pakistan

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday, announced a 16-member squad for the coming T20I tours of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan.

Qualified wicketkeeper batter Litton Das will lead Bangladesh in the upcoming tours as he has been officially named the T20I captain after Najmul Hossain Shanto renounced the role former this year.

Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan will help as Dasโ€™s deputy on the UAE and Pakistan tours.

Das had also signified Bangladesh in a three-match T20I against West Indies last year in December as Shanto was absent due to an injury.

Overall, the 30-year-old has achieved Bangladesh in one Test, seven ODIs and four T20Is.

Das was newly a part of Karachi Kingsโ€™ squad for the present Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 but was lined out of the marquee league after supportive a finger injury while preparation.

Temporarily, Shanto is one of the five players who repaid to Bangladeshโ€™s T20I squad, attended by Towhid Hridoy, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam.

For the inexpert, Bangladesh will initial tour UAE for two T20Is, planned to be played in Sharjah on May 17 and 19.

The Tigers will then head to Pakistan, where they will play a five-match chain from May 25 to June 3.
